Information We Collect

Information you give us directly:

  • Contact details — name, email address, phone number, and business name when you fill out a form, request our free Website Report Card, sign up for a plan, or contact us.

  • Business information — your website address, Google Business Profile or social media links, business hours, services, photos, logos, and other content you provide so we can build and manage your website.

  • Payment information — when you subscribe to a plan, payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers; Stripe handles that under its own privacy policy.

  • Communications — the contents of emails, chat messages, text messages, and form submissions you send us.

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage data — pages visited, time on site, links clicked, referring pages, and general interaction with our website.

  • Device data — IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and screen size.

  • Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 5 below.

Phone calls and voice interactions:

  • If you call our demonstration phone line or a phone number connected to our AI receptionist service, your call may be answered by an automated AI system and may be recorded and transcribed. We collect the phone number you call from, the audio of the call, a transcript, and any information you share during the call (such as your name and business). You will be notified at the start of a recorded call. If you do not wish to be recorded, please hang up and contact us by email instead.

Information from third parties:

  • If you provide a link to your Google Business Profile, website, or social media pages, we may collect publicly available information from those sources (such as your listed services, hours, photos, and reviews) to build and maintain your website.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, build, host, and maintain the websites and services you purchase from us;

  • Respond to your inquiries, deliver your free Website Report Card, and follow up on your requests;

  • Process payments, manage subscriptions, and send billing communications;

  • Send service updates, reports, and account notifications;

  • Send marketing emails and text messages where permitted and, for texts, only with your consent — you can opt out at any time (see Section 8);

  • Operate and improve our AI receptionist, chat, and demonstration systems, including reviewing call transcripts for quality;

  • Advertise our services, including showing you relevant ads on platforms like Facebook and Instagram (see Section 5);

  • Analyze how our website is used so we can improve it;

  • Protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats; and

  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to run our business:

  • Service providers. We use trusted third-party platforms to operate our services, including: payment processing (Stripe), website hosting and building tools, AI and voice technology providers, email and text messaging platforms, scheduling/calendar tools, analytics providers, and customer relationship management tools. These providers may process your information only to perform services for us.

  • Advertising partners. We share limited data (such as cookie identifiers and hashed email addresses) with advertising platforms like Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google to measure and improve our ads. See Section 5.

  • Our team and contractors. Members of our team, including remote contractors who help build and maintain client websites, may access information as needed to do their work, under confidentiality obligations.

  • Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Britework Studio, our clients, or others.

  • Business transfers. If Britework Studio is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.

4. Client Websites and Your Customers' Data

If you are a Britework Studio client, the website we build for you may collect information from your customers — such as contact form submissions, chat conversations, phone calls answered by your AI receptionist, appointment bookings, and email addresses for your marketing lists.

For that data, you are the owner and controller, and we act as your service provider. We process your customers' information only to provide your services (delivering leads to you, sending your email campaigns, booking your appointments) and never for our own marketing. You are responsible for having appropriate notices and consents for your own customers, including consent for text messages sent to them. If you cancel your services, we will delete or return your customer data upon request, subject to Section 9.

Visitors to client websites should refer to the privacy policy posted on that website; this policy covers britework studio's own website and services.

5. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies (pixels, tags, local storage) to make the site work, remember preferences, measure traffic, and advertise our services. Specifically:

  • Essential cookies — required for the site and checkout to function.

  • Analytics — tools that tell us how visitors use our site so we can improve it.

  • Advertising pixels — we use the Meta Pixel (and may use similar tools from Google or other platforms) to measure our ad performance and to show you ads for our services on other platforms after you visit our site ("retargeting"). These tools may collect your IP address, browser information, and pages visited, and may set cookies.

Your choices: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in settings. You can opt out of personalized ads through your accounts on Meta and Google, via industry tools like the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out at optout.aboutads.info, and, where available, by using your browser's opt-out preference signals. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site.

We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, as no consistent industry standard exists, but we do honor recognized opt-out preference signals where required by law.

6. Text Messages (SMS)

If you provide your mobile number and consent to receive texts from us, we may send you service notifications (like lead alerts and account updates) and, with your consent, marketing messages. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchase. We do not share your mobile number with third parties for their own marketing.

7. Data Security and Retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and reputable service providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy: while you have an account or active inquiry with us, and afterward as needed for legitimate business purposes (like billing records), dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Call recordings and transcripts are retained for quality and training purposes and then deleted in the ordinary course of business. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 8).

8. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;

  • Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate information;

  • Deletion — ask us to delete your personal information;

  • Portability — receive your information in a usable format;

  • Opt out — opt out of marketing emails (unsubscribe link in every email), marketing texts (reply STOP), and targeted advertising (Section 5);

  • Non-discrimination — we will not penalize you for exercising your rights.

Texas residents have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, and residents of other states (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and others) may have similar rights under their state laws, including the right to appeal a decision we make about your request.

To exercise any of these rights, email Hello@britworkstudio.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will verify your identity and respond within the time required by applicable law. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and we will explain the outcome of your appeal.

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your information based on contract performance, our legitimate interests, your consent, and legal obligations, and you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our services are designed for businesses in the United States, and your information will be processed in the United States.

9. Data After Cancellation

If you cancel your Britework Studio plan, we will, upon written request, provide you an export of your website content and your customer lists, then delete your account data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, billing, or dispute purposes. If you do not request deletion, we may retain your data for a limited period in case you reactivate your services.

10. Children's Privacy

Our website and services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, contact us at Hello@briteworkstudio.com and we will delete it.

11. Third-Party Links

Our website may link to other websites and services (including client example sites and social media). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Review their policies before providing information.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we will provide notice on our website or by email. Your continued use of our services after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
